Look Back: TYPO3camp Hamburg 2024
Back to school: Last weekend, Hamburg's TYPO3 scene hosted this year's #t3chh24 in the premises of perhaps the most modern and beautiful vocational school in Hamburg.
As one of the veterans of Hamburg's TYPO3 agencies, we from F7 were not only a gold sponsor and on site with seven colleagues, but also sweetened the two days for the knowledge-hungry participants with rainbow-coloured sweets directly between the check-in desk and the toujou espresso machine with our F7 Candy Bar.
Worth knowing
At the heart of the two-day event were the sessions offered by the participants, whose diverse topics ranged from promoting young talent to cyber security and Kubernetes and had something to offer for every interest.
In the ‘Current State of TYPO3’, for example, Luisa and Daniel reported on the organisational changes at TYPO3 GmbH that are breathing new life into the partner programmes. Hannes from mittwald explained the basics of the Core Web Vitals in a nutshell and presented the CrUX tool to view real data on the performance of a website in users' actual browsers.
We found Myrna and Luisa's talk about TYPO3 Surfcamp 2024 and the resulting exchange about promoting young talent particularly exciting. The question of how we can infect the next generation with our passion and enthusiasm for TYPO3 and how we can attract and promote young talent is becoming more important every day. In line with the ‘just do it’ approach, we want to work with Flo from SkillDisplay to develop a guide for the often unpopular short internships so that the two weeks can be packed full of trial and error and knowledge that benefits all sides.
The developers among us listened spellbound as Andreas showed us his extension of rector: with his tools Fractor and Lifter, the execution of major TYPO3 updates is massively automated, especially in the repetitive diligence part, which not only saves a lot of time, but also makes it easier to update TYPO3.
Conclusion
Finally, we would like to thank the BMK Hamburg for the great location, Anja, Volker and the entire t3chh team for the fantastic organisation of the TYPO3camp, and all participants for their sessions, inspiration and their ravenous appetite for our candy bar. We were able to sell ten kilos of sweets over the two days.
And we celebrate Jan, who passed his TYPO3 CMS Certified Integrator certification again.
